I’m a SNSF ambizione grant holder at the Department of Political Science, University of Zurich. Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Political Studies (University of Lausanne) and the Department of Political Science (University of St. Gallen) as well as a visiting scholar at the Research Center on Inequality and Social Policy (University of Bremen) and the Department of Politics and Public Administration (University of Konstanz). I work at the intersection of comparative political economy and comparative politics. I’m interested in democratization (e.g. suffrage extension and restriction, electoral systems choice, electoral manipulation), the origins of political institutions (e.g. federalism, direct democracy), war, and redistribution. My work has been published at the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, Socio-Economic Review, the British Journal of Political Science, the European Journal of Political Research, the Journal of European Social Policy, and Electoral Studies.
